Chemotherapy

Chemotherapeutic agents have, to date, not been too successful as adjuvants to surgical or radiotherapeutic treatment. Partial responses have been noted with single agent methotrexate, adriamycin, 5-FU, cytoxan, mitomycin C and cisplatin.
Intravesical chemotherapy has been shown to reduce recurrences
Thio-TEPA
Doxorubicin
Mitomycin C

Combinations

M-VAC (methotrexate, vinblastine, doxorubicin, cisplatin)
MCV (methotrexate, cisplatin, vinblastine) (under clinical evaluation)


Hormones (not useful for treating bladder cancer)

Biological Response Modifiers

BCG (bacillus Calmette-Guerin)
Alpha interferon 2B (intravesical)
Granulocytic colony stimulating factor (G-CSF)
