The Commission on Cancer (COC) of the American College of
Surgeons requires childhood malignancies to be staged using
either the AJCC system or the staging criteria of the pediatric
clinical trial groups. The most common pediatric cooperative
groups in the United States were the Children's Cancer Group
(CCG) and the Pediatric Oncology Group (POG). Recently, CCG
and POG merged and are now known as COG (Children's
Oncology Group).
